Demo: Earthquaker Devices Palisades

As you all know, I play bass for a living and there are some pedals that I have never thought to purchase, including the legendary Ibanez Tube Screamer. I know guitarists who swear by them or one of the many clones of this pedal. Well Earthquaker Devices ran tests with every popular clone on the market as well as several vintage originals, and they came up with the most serious of all Tube Screamer clones, the Palisades! Having never owned a Tube Screamer, I asked Nick Reinhart to make the video for this soon to be legendary overdrive.

As it goes over at Earthquaker DevicesJamie Stillman is never content on just making a clone version of someone elses pedal. Jamie starts making a pedal that can do what it’s clone can do, then he really digs deep and creates that pedal x 10! This is not just a Tube Screamer, it is a Tube Screamer on steroids. There are so many options and tones coming out of the Palisades that you would be hard pressed not to find the ultimate tone with it. It is all sonically possible with the multifaceted Palisades.

The Palisades comes with seven knobs, two that are rotary, two toggle switches and three foot switches. Just compare that to the actual Tube Screamer. What this means is you, the musician, get options! There are so many ways to get that exact tone you hear in your head.

I think Nick does a great job going through this trailblazing pedal and I think if you are a fan of the Tube Screamer or any of it’s clones, you will sell them all and to buy this Palisades. Your search for the ultimate overdrive has come to a conclusion!
