Taking a look at the Earthquaker Devices Dispatch Master, this pedal is one of Earthquaker Devices' mainstays and has developed quite a legacy for itself over the years. I'm seeing it more and more on peoples boards, and in studios all over the world. It's super great to see how far along these great devices have come.

Sometimes, at one of my clinics or at music schools, I will tell kids how I used to practice with Paul Gilbert at Musicians Institute. My routine would start with practice from 6am to 9am, then go to class, home to eat, then over to Paul's to rip on new Racer X riffs. This effect is huge, dynamic over the top all the while remaining musical. But I have to say, I don’t hear a lot of flangers being used these days.
Read MoreThe Markbass Super Synth was a craigslist purchase I made after checking out fellow bassist Dennis Owens’ of Free Moral Agents use of his. He used it in a very musical and inspiring way but when I got mine and shot this video, I was clearly not inspired and so the result is a lukewarm review. What I should add is that just because I am not a fan of the Markbass Super Synth, does in no way mean I think it is bad pedal for all musicians. It did not move me but it moved Dennis, and it may move you.
