Yep, you read that right! BOSS’ premium Waza reissue series has extended to the legendary DC-2 Chorus, and the always appreciated but often underrated, BOSS Metal Zone. The Waza DC-2w is an incredibly faithful reissue of the highly coveted DC-2 Chorus. Because of its current presence on the market (BOSS’ 2nd best selling pedal ever!), the update to the Metal Zone was a pleasant surprise, but the Waza DC-2w was completely and totally unexpected.

Chase Bliss: Warped Vinyl

When the Warped Vinyl from Chase Bliss arrived, I only thought one thing…I bet this pedal will make a Pedals And Effects "Best Of" list. I would have to get some really amazing pedals in order for this to not make it on any of those lists. The Warped Vinyl Vibrato/Chorus is a pedal that simulates the effect of a warped vinyl record and so much more.

Demo: Pigtronix Quantum Time Modulator

Pigtronix's Quantum Time Modulator is a vibrato, a chorus, and a wild time stretching effect that provides some pretty cool and useful sounds. Pigtronix was inspired by Frank Zappa's MicMix DynaFlanger sound, and although I am not too familiar with that specific unit I fully trust that Dave at Pigtronix managed to achieve that exact sound. Dave, and the crew at Pigtronix are all pedal wizards, and are constantly coming out with new pedals to change the effects game.

Every stop on tour I check the local music shops and craigslist pages. Whether its Deltron 3030, or Juliette Lewis myself and all the other musicians on tour are always scouring each stop for great gear and hidden gems.

Review: Ibanez DUE300 Multi-Effects Pedal

Kicking off your Monday, Pedals And Effects style! While on tour with Deltron 3030 during our Portland, Oregon stop I had to stop by Old Town Music. Old Town Music is one of the best music stores in the country, so of course I had to drop in. During this particular visit they had an 80’s Ibanez DUE300 Multi-Effects pedal at a steal of a price of $75.00! This multi effects unit is great for several reasons but I would have to say the most unique thing is the delay hold button on the board gives you 2.2 seconds of hold time! Back then, that must have seemed like eternity.

The Pedals And Effects 5, the builders series, continues with Matt Holl of Wren and Cuff. I met Matt Holl through a 2009/2010 email correspondence when I was investigating his Pickle Pie Hella Fuzz. I was weary of touring with my Sovtek fuzz and was looking for a suitable replacement. I hit up Matt and the rest as they say, is history.

A few years back, pedal builders became increasingly aware that more and more musicians were responsible for lugging their gear through airports, and flying with their own gear. Pedal boards were becoming essential for the traveling musician, so making smaller pedals allowed for having multiple sonic options on boards already tight for space . Ibanez, known for making some of the most sought after pedals in the 80's, has decided to make some of those pedals into the mini format with the CSMINI Chorus, ADMINI Delay and SMMINI Super Metal Distortion.
